"The critical transition period which has been missed is Matrescence - the time of mother-becoming
-Dana Raphael
Raphael noticed that becoming a mother was a transition, something that happens over time through conception, pregnancy, birth and into postpartum. Yet it is an unrecognized and unacknowledged transition in modern days. In past times, and still in some cultures who have been able to retain their connection to tradition, the transition of a woman to a mother was recognized, celebrated, honoured, and revered even. In lost cultures and modern world states, this public, social recognition and reverence has been misplaced and lost to many of us. Even as the science of what happens to a woman physiological is unquestionable, our social conventions have still not caught up. When your baby(s) was born, how were you as a mother celebrated? What ritual or social convention honoured the new person you became/are becoming? Was this missed for you?
This month join Dragonfly Maternity and BirthWyse Inc for a refreshing drink of Motherhood Celebration - deep style. We will honor your Matrescence with a celebratory Numa Breathwork session.

Key areas of our group:
Maternal connection | Tools + resources | Referral network | Ceremony and ritual
How our group operates:
--> Four weekly live community connections per month (in-person or virtual)
--> Monthly themes with guest speakers
--> Virtual check-in's between sessions, in WhatsApp
A variety of themes will be covered through the year, with four live sessions per month (in studio and online options available) and virtual check-in's between each session to offer continued support. At the start of each month, we'll be inviting guest speakers in from the professional community to talk about various topics of motherhood, share their expertise in their field, and answer questions from the group. Each week, we'll be building upon that theme with tools & resources to support the topic, discussions around what is coming up individually + collectively through motherhood, ways to implement the practices into daily living, and rituals & ceremonies to embody these resources through all levels of our Being -- body mind and soul.
For upcoming themes that we’ll be exploring through the year, and to sign up for future sessions, 2024 event listing here!
Space is limited, sign up to reserve your spot! We'll be working with an intimate container of 12 women. This group is open to any stage of motherhood, whether you're in the early infant stages or into the teenage years and beyond.
Monthly sessions can be registered for the entire year on auto-renew, or attended on individual month's basis.
