About The Event
Welcome to "Embodying Motherhood"! A weekly postpartum group to support mothers at any stage; through connection, education, and healing practices.
May 2024 session: Wednesdays at 10am - 11:30am | May 8, 15, 22, 29
Topic: Aromatherapy for Motherhood
Guest presenter: Kayla Gissing, owner of "Potions and Paper" and "Peaceful Play"
Join Dragonfly Maternity and BirthWyse Inc as we explore the dynamic world of Aromatherapy in ways that can support you on your motherhood journey, as well as the well-being for your little ones and your entire family.
We will be inviting this month's guest speaker, Kayla Gissing, to start off the month with us in Week 1 as she shares an in-depth presentation on essential oils.
Kayla is a yoga instructor, former preschool teacher, children's book creator, mama, and essential oil lover with the goal of spreading love and positivity! She has been teaching yoga to children and adults for over 6 years, and feels passionate about health and wellness for everyone. Driven by a desire to extend peace and mindfulness beyond the yoga mat, Kayla created "Potions and Paper" - a fusion of aromatherapy and children's yoga activities as well as self-care products for the adults in their lives. All products are made with high-quality ingredients and good vibes! Check out all of her offerings at www.peacefulplay.ca
Each session in our 4-week series, we'll be diving deeper as we explore educational components and hands-on sampling with a wide range of aromatherapy tools, uncover the cognitive & emotional connection to scent and how aroma can affect our nervous system, and learn about ways we can use aromatherapy in daily living.

Key areas of our group:
Maternal connection | Tools + resources | Referral network | Ceremony and ritual
A variety of themes will be covered through the year, with four live sessions per month (in studio and online options available) and virtual check-in's between each session to offer continued support. At the start of each month, we'll be inviting guest speakers in from the professional community to talk about various topics of motherhood, share their expertise in their field, and answer questions from the group. Each week, we'll be building upon that theme with tools & resources to support the topic, discussions around what is coming up individually + collectively through motherhood, ways to implement the practices into daily living, and rituals & ceremonies to embody these resources through all levels of our Being -- body mind and soul.
For upcoming themes that we’ll be exploring through the year, and to sign up for future sessions, 2024 event listing here!
